My Story

How did I get where I am today?

I come from Willemstad, Curaçao. Growing up in a blended culture family, I got to learn about many cultures. Through my parents, I got to appreciate art and developed a passion to exploring new things. When I’m not busy with school or work, I love spending time outdoors, riding horses, being with friends and soaking up art and culture.

After finishing high school in 2018, I took a break for a year. During that time, I volunteered at a museum, helping to design educational spaces. I also went to art school (IBB), where I learned how to express myself through art.

In 2019, I moved to the Netherlands to study spatial design at SintLucas, focusing on interior design. During my studies, I did internships at Gielissen, where I worked with a team to design spaces for events, and in Malta, where I learned more about working with clients in a furniture store. After graduating from SintLucas, I chose to explore a different field.

While studying, I started freelancing and worked for Curaçao Locals (which is now Curaçao life) and Socialutions Caribbean in 2022, managing various social media account and learning about advertising in META. Now, I’m studying communication at Thomas More University, excited to see where this will take me next.

Growing up in Curaçao

When I was growing up in Curaçao, there were limitations on what I could do. But, it taught me to be resourceful. Even though laptops or cell we’re not allowed in high school, I learned to be creative with what I had. This experience changed how I approached opportunities and projects, and helped me see things in a different way.

Why I love to travel

I enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures. It’s fascinating to see how other people live and work, and I love sharing what I learn. I also bring this passion into my work. Living on an island where traveling isn’t always easy it has taught me to appreciate the opportunity to explore. Not everyone has the chance to travel, so I feel lucky to have that privilege. Traveling helps me broaden my horizons and learn new things, whether I’m relaxing or actively seeking new experiences.
