Instituto Buena Bista
In 2018, I became a part of Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) Center for Contemporary Art in Curaçao. IBB offers a preparatory course for aspiring artists aiming to pursue further education in art. During my time at IBB, I gained valuable skills in expressing myself through various artistic mediums and disciplines. The course was a full-time commitment spanning two years. However, I decided to conclude my studies at IBB after completing the first year, as I ventured to the Netherlands to begin my education at SintLucas. Presented below are a few examples of the assignments I undertook during my time at IBB.

Fashion: Mother Nature’s Funeral
During the latter half of my education at IBB, I had the opportunity to take Fashion classes, where I was assigned to create a garment related to a topic that deeply resonated with me.
I chose to focus on the theme of Global Warming because it is a subject that greatly
interests me. As I observe the world, I see significant efforts being made to preserve it;
however, regrettably, these endeavors are still inadequate. This made me feel overwhelmed and helpless. Inspired by this, I decided to design the Funeral Dress for Mother Nature, symbolising the day when the world reaches its end.

Sisters
For an exhibition, we were given the option to create a work of our choice. I decided to
portray the evolving dynamics of my relationship with my sister through photography.
Our bond used to be strong, but over the years, we have gradually grown apart. This distance continues to widen. However, who knows, perhaps someday this will change.

Taboo: David Bade
For this assignment, I had to choose my own Taboo topic from the artist David Bade.
For this, I chose the topic of Bullying because I was severely bullied at elementary school.
I wrote down different feelings about how I felt during that time and started to elaborate on them through photography. These are some of the images I made.
